When looking for cures for kidney stones the type of stone you have is an important factor in what treatment will work for you. There are five common types of stones – calcium oxalate and calcium phosphate, uric acid, struvite, and cystine. The different chemical composition of stones is a result of the type of chemical imbalance present in your urine.

Calcium Stones are the most common with 85% of stones composed of calcium compounds. They are caused by excess calcium in the urine. The kidneys are designed to remove this excess from the blood but with low intake of fluids and the consequent low volume of urine the calcium combines with other waste products to forms stones. The calcium is chemically bound to oxalate (calcium oxalate) or phosphate (calcium phosphate). Of these, calcium oxalate is much more common. Low levels of urinary citrate and magnesium, high levels of oxalate, sodium and uric acid, may also cause calcium stone formation.

Calcium phosphate stones happen to patients with metabolic or hormonal disorders like hyperparathyroidism and renal tubular acidosis. Extended inactivity also increases urinary calcium and may cause stones. This is why astronauts in space tend to lose bone mass and form kidney stones.

Uric Acid Stones are formed when the acid level in the urine is high and the uric acid formed doesn’t dissolve properly. Uric acid is produced in the digestion of meat protein. They account for about 10% of kidney stones. This type of stone can be treated with alkalinizing medication that will help dissolve the stones by keeping the pH of the urine between 6.5 and 7.0.

Struvite Stones are created when there is an infection is present in the urinary tract which effects the chemical balance of the urine. These stones have more jagged structures and can grow quite large. They also are more common with women because women have a high incidence of urinary tract infections than men.

Cystine Stones are formed by an amino acid cystine which doesn’t dissolve properly. People who suffer from these usually inherit a rare, congenital condition where cystine is found in higher levels in the urine. These stones are difficult to treat and usually require ongoing therapy.

Fortunately for most people finding a remedy for their kidney stones is not that difficult because the most common types (calcium stones) are easily taken care of with a simple process that can be done at home if they are not too large.

When looking for kidney stone treatments on the internet, you may be wondering if you can find the answers you want by doing a little research without incurring any cost? Online you will discover a wide range of potential treatments that may vary in their effectiveness. Because kidney stones vary in how they are formed they also have different reactions to the different remedies.

Throughout history people have suffered from developing kidney stones and as a result many different methods to help remove them have been passed down through the ages. All this happened before the advent of modern medical practices and some of these methods have proved very effective.

Here is a list of some of the common remedies for kidney stones that you may like to try.

Increase your water intake throughout the day to at least 2 liters minimum and more if you can. Note the increase in your urine output. This could flush them out.

A daily glass of orange juice can help prevent the formation of stones.

Coconut water, the clear liquid inside young coconuts, drunk regularly can help dissolve them.

Onions – take 2 averaged sized onions, cooked them over a medium heat, let them cool, blend them and then strain the juice. Drinking this daily over several days is credited with helping some pass their stones.

Drink a soup made from 1 cup of pomegranates and 2 cups of horse gram

Kidney beans. Extract the beans from the pods. Boil 50 grams of chopped pods in four liters of water for six hours. Strain the liquid and allow to cool. Drink a glass every two hours for the first day and then further glasses several times a week.

Figs can be boiled to extract the juice as another potential treatment.

The Chinese have passed down an ancient remedy through the ages to help with kidney problems, including kidney stones. This is a mixture of Chicken Bone Grass herb, dried red dates and water.

Drink 2 oz of lemon juice and olive oil mixed together followed with a large glass of water at the first sign of stone pain.

As you can see there is no shortage of ideas about how to treat kidney stones. Each treatment has been credited with some degree of success for sufferers . You may want to try several to find which one may work for your situation.

Kidney stones are often the result of a failure to replenish water lost from breathing, sweating and urination. A prolonged period of this dehydration can result in the formation of these stones, so it makes sense that one of the commonest remedies is to drink plenty of water to stop them forming in the first place or flush them out before they get too big.

The average person loses between two and three liters of water a day through normal activities. So the amount of water one should drink on a daily basis is approximately eight to twelve glasses per day. This can increase or decrease based on the types of things that a person is involved in. If you find yourself working in a hot environment or doing strenuous exercise for a prolonged time your body can lose up to 2 liters an hour! To stop dehydration you simply need to regularly replace the water that you lose throughout the day.

You are the best judge of how much water you need with your changing activities. Paying attention to your fluid loss, how much you urinate, how often and the color of your urine, with a darker color usually indicating that you are more dehydrated. When you feel thirsty this means you are already dehydrated and water is best rather than sugar laden sodas, fruit juices or coffee to hydrate yourself.

A general guideline for avoiding dehydration in hot or humid environments or during strenuous activity would be if you find yourself wanting to urinate every 3–5 hours and your urine is lightly colored or colorless.

Having adequate water regularly is not only important when it comes to preventing kidney stones from forming, but your body which is composed of over 70% water needs adequate fluids to expel toxins and to keep your system flexible, lubricated and running smoothly.

Even when your body is dehydrated just 5% you can experience effects like:

Headaches

Extreme fatigue

Less sweating

Increased body temperature

Decreased urination

Muscle cramps

Nausea

If you have a history of recurring kidney stones it is a good idea to regularly drink more than you think you need. Carrying water with you so you can keep yourself topped up and well lubricated may help stop further stones from forming. You may also benefit from repeated treatments found in the Kidney Stone Removal Report.

Kidney stone symptoms like pain are quite characteristic. When a person is passing a stone and suffering from excruciating pain it is not hard to tell that it’s a kidney stone issue. The pain doesn’t come from the stone when it is in the kidney, even though that may be the area that feels the pain, the pain starts when it moves from the kidney down into the ureter.

The stones form in the kidney over a period of time often because of a prolonged period of dehydration and then drop out of the kidney down into the ureter, which is the tube that connects the kidney to the bladder. The flow of urine will push the stone either to the bladder or sometimes if it is too large it will become stuck in the narrow ureter tube.

That’s when people get that stereotypical excruciating pain which means they can’t get comfortable so they end up in the emergency room. So what happens is when the stone gets trapped in a narrow part of that tube the urine can’t get passed the stone because of the blockage. It backs up the urine causing the kidney to swell up and the pain fibers in the kidney stretch which gives that terrible pain that people describe.

First piss after LITHOTRIPSY!

So when people end up in an emergency room they usually given pain relief medication and then generally they have a cat scan if it’s available, which is the best way to discover the location and size of the stone and what kind of damage it might be doing.

Passing the stone naturally is obviously the best option if it is not too large and the patient can handle the process. If the stone is too large it may require medical intervention to help the process along.

If you have suffered from kidney stones in the past you will have experienced first hand how painful experience can be. Some liken it to being stabbed repeatedly in the lower back and it is no wonder the pain can be so bad when you see what a kidney stone looks like. They can have jagged edges that are razor sharp. Having these stuck in your ureter (muscular tubes that propel urine from the kidneys to the bladder) blocking it or causing damage, it’s no wonder it’s very painful.

Often the first sign that you have kidney stones is this sharp pain which can happen without warning. Many people when first confronted with this don’t know exactly what to do but a very motivated to do something quickly to find some relief. Imagine if it starts just as you were beginning a well deserved vacation or when you are preparing for a big event.

This is where many turn to professional medical help. Doctors are very knowledgeable about pharmaceutical drugs, can give you pain relief, but have never studied natural home remedies in their practice. All over the world people rely on home remedies because most of them are proven, safe and inexpensive. Doctors today are simply too overwhelmed with prescribing drugs to people and offering surgical procedures to get rid of problems that can sometimes be solved with a simple home remedy.

One of the best ways that is universally recommended to deal with kidney stones is to drink a lot of fluid to help flush the stones out. If they are small and not stuck this may work. Another recommendation is to add in some walking to help dislodge the stones. This may be all that’s required for many sufferers but usually people require a little more help. Fortunately there is another level that you can take and that is to dissolve the stones to aid flushing them out of your system. Now this will work quite well for almost 80% of cases and is probably a very good place to start because it is usually quick, painless and very inexpensive.

So why doesn’t it work all the time? Well that is probably due to there being different types of kidney stones that react differently to remedies. It also is dependent on the size of the stones. Larger stones may take more time to dissolve and possibly repeated treatments to finally dislodge them. The most common type of stone is calcium oxalate and you can find a very effective remedy to quickly dissolve them on the link below.

I have heard it said that “If you look after your health you control the most important part of your life.”

If you have suffered from kidney stones now or in the past or are concerned about them recurring then you owe it to yourself to try this simple Treatment to support your health and quality of life.

I attended a health seminar where the presenter introduced the concept of medical professionals getting rewarded for results instead of getting rewarded if they fail to deliver results. He explained that in certain societies the doctor is paid a retainer while his patients are healthy and that this retainer stops as soon as they become unhealthy. They don’t pay the doctor any more until the doctor can help them regain good health.

I thought this an interesting concept because in most western countries the exact opposite happens when we go to the doctor. If the doctor has no effective treatment or can’t diagnose the problem then you probably have to go back for further tests or treatment and you pay more for this. If you are cured you don’t go back. This directly puts a financial incentive on the medical profession not to lose a customer by helping their patients regain good health too quickly.

Now I am not suggesting that this is a conscious decision made by your doctor to screw more money out of you by keeping you sick but you do have to wonder if that system doesn’t have an inherent flaw in it. After all most people respond to rewards and at some level change their behavior to gain that benefit.

When you get your copy of the Kidney Stone Removal Report one of the attractive benefits is that you don’t pay if you don’t get results. That deal has a good feel to it. They can offer that because for 80% of people who use the suggestions found in the get results. And for the 20% who for reasons like the kidney stones are too large or they are one of the rarer types that don’t respond to the treatment then it is a simple process to get a refund. Sound fair?

You can also read the stories of people who have used this report here .

Kidney stones can strike without warning. The pain can be likened to getting stabbed in the lower back with a sharp knife and the shock and agony of it will lead people to consider any remedy even surgery to gain some relief.

However surgery should be only considered as a last resort because it can have serious consequences for the future health and functioning of the kidney.

An alternative to surgical procedure called “extra corporeal shockwave lithotripsy” (ESWL) which blasts the stone into tiny fragments so it can then be easily flushed also has the potential for long term health consequences.

The good news is that most stones can be dissolved and naturally passed from the system in the majority of cases.

8mm Kidney Stone

Roughly 10 percent of people can expect to develop kidney stones in their lives with males about four times more likely than women to develop them.

Kidney stones don’t always cause problems and often go undiagnosed for years. It’s often only when they grow large enough to block the flow of urine from the kidneys to the bladder that they cause excruciating pain getting your full attention.

Exactly what causes kidney stones is not known. There can be many different reasons. The most common type in about 80% of cases is composed of calcium oxalate crystals. Other types of stones are composed of struvite (magnesium, ammonium and phosphate); calcium phosphate; and cystine. Uric acid stones are another different type of stone in about 5–10% of cases.

Even though calcium is one of the major minerals in kidney stones, research now shows that having a low calcium diet actually increases the incidence of forming them. When calcium levels are low your body produces more oxalate which results in an increase risk of developing kidney stones.

One of the first treatments recommended is to drink plenty of fluid to try to flush the stones out. Usually if this has no effect the stones are larger than 5 mm and then you may want to try to dissolve them quickly so they can then be flushed out.

If you have had kidney stones in the past or your family has a history of them, then you have an increased risk of developing them in the future. It is probably worth your while looking into some type of remedy or treatment that will help stop them recurring. It maybe as simple as drinking more fluids on a regular basis, or changing your diet to either exclude foods that can cause stones to form, or even adding in foods that do the opposite and promote kidney health.
